700 supporters turned out January 7th for Leket Israel's 2nd Annual Gala Dinner at Eden Al HaMayim. The evening, honoring Henry and Julia Koschitzky of Toronto, was dedicated to raising awareness and funding for the organization's agricultural gleaning project.
An external assessment of Leket Israel's managerial processes, efficiency and financial accountability was conducted by MIDOT. As a result of Leket Israel's outstanding scores, MIDOT endorsed the organization with its Seal of Effectiveness.

A first of its kind farming Initiative supported by a generous grant from Goldman Sachs Gives is enabling Leket Israel to plant, grow and harvest its own crops as a way to supplement rescued food for the needy.
Leket Israel's fleet of 10 trucks, 6 off-road vehicles, and 2 tractors for agricultural gleaning enable the organization to quickly and efficiently rescue and redistribute thousands of tons of surplus food to the needy on an annual basis.
Leket Israel partners with catering halls, restaurants, bakeries and hotels in all regions of the country to ensure that surplus food is delivered to needy people.

Leket Israel volunteers prepare and deliver more than 7,500 mid-morning meals to underprivileged children at 100 schools from Tzfat and Tiberias in the north to Netivot and Be'er Sheva in the south.
Leket is our attempt to reverse the phenomenon. Rather than let good food go to waste, Israeli farmers invite Leket Israel to harvest their fields and to provide the produce to needy people around the country.
Leket Israel was founded by volunteers, and volunteers continue to drive our organization to new heights. Forty thousand a year strong, volunteers come from around the world and from nearly every sector of Israeli society
.
