March 2013 — As reported in Temple Emanu-el's Bulletin, ''We took an hour's bus ride near Rechovot to work on our Mitzvah project with Leket Israel. In a blog post by TorahLady, the blogger describes her volunteer experience on a group visit to Leket Israel where she participated in gleaning a tomato field near Rechovot, Israel. Her group worked alongside a Taglit-Birthright group and a teen group, as they all got their hands dirty filling crate after crate of tomatoes to be distributed to needy families.
