Leket Israel has instituted the only joint purchasing cooperative for nonprofits in the country providing them with discounts of up to 25% on food commodity purchases. Through group buying and economies of scale, Leket Israel enables over 100 participating nonprofits to save hundreds of thousands of shekels a year in food expenses.
Leket Israel's joint purchasing cooperative advises nonprofits to the nutritional value of food products and works to assist them in purchasing nutritionally superior alternatives to be used in food parcels for the needy. Through the program, nonprofits not only save on food budgets, but are provided with the encouragement and assistance to best meet the nutritional needs of their clientele through food purchases.
