Founded in 2009, Leket Israel's "Food Safety Support" program offers partner nonprofits with free professional assessments and capacity building grants to help identify and fund the purchase of critical infrastructure needed to ensure the proper handling, storage, and safety of food provisions.
Leket Israel is committed to helping raise the professional level and capacity of food provision organization's serving Israel's needy. Consistent with this, Leket Israel offers free assessments of food handling methods, practices, and capabilities. Assessments are conducted and financial grants awarded to participating nonprofits in an effort to improve the basic infrastructure they use in food storage and processing. Grants are typically allocated for refrigeration, shelving, and other food safety measures.
Professional on-site consultations and review of the food provisions provided to the needy through these agencies are also provided as part of Leket Israel's Nutritional Food Safety Support program.
