Wine Club Event Draws 50 Members



New York, NY - September 21st, 2011. Leket Israel Wine Club Event in NY City's Tribeca neighborhood draws 50 supporters and wine club members. While guests were enjoying dinner and drinking exquisite Israeli wines, Joseph Gitler, Founder and Chairman of Leket Israel, spoke about the hunger and poverty issues in Israel, as well as how Leket Israel and its programs are helping alleviate Israel’s problem of nutritional insecurity.

New York, NY (September 21st, 2011) - On Wednesday evening, September 21st, 2011, American Friends of Leket Israel hosted its first ever Leket Israel Wine Club Event in the Tribeca neighborhood of New York City. The event, which benefited Leket Israel, Israel’s National Food Bank and leading food rescue network, was attended by approximately 50 guests and was held in a spacious loft residence donated for the evening by a Leket Israel supporter. All current Leket Israel Wine Club members were invited to attend.

 


The evening started out with a bang with acclaimed Chef Simon Azoulay from Great Neck Glatt in Long Island creating a sumptuous tuna appetizer during his featured presentation, while guests were served hors d'oeuvre. Following the demonstration, Yossie Horwitz, Leket Israel Board member, resident oenophile and wine expert introduced the wines that were available for tasting and drinking throughout the evening at the wine bar. While guests were enjoying dinner and drinking exquisite Israeli wines, Joseph Gitler, Founder and Chairman of Leket Israel, spoke about the hunger and poverty issues in Israel, as well as how Leket Israel and its programs are helping alleviate Israel’s problem of nutritional insecurity. Joseph then opened up the floor for questions from the guests. The night was rounded out with special dessert wine and assorted pastries.
